36 DAYS OF TYPE, 2018
A Hand-painted Floral Alphabet
Every April, a small collective in Barcelona throws a celebration of illustrated typography on Instagram called #36DaysOfType.
It's an annual challenge for designers, illustrators, and creatives to do the entire alphabet and all the numbers however they see fit, and meet others doing the same through the hashtag and the official account. This was my first year attempting the challenge, and I (very stupidly?) decided to go with hand-painting the entire thing in gouache.
This was the closest I will ever come to doing a marathon. Over a month of daily drawing and painting was equal parts delightful and insanely annoying. But I KEPT UP AND FINISHED THE WHOLE THING, AND THEN I WAS STUPID ENOUGH TO DO IT AGAIN! Check out YEAR #2!
